Tim Norton

Few individuals in the financial services industry can match the myriad experience Tim can offer.  With more than 35 years' experience as an investment advisor, Tim has a wealth of useful and practical expertise in all aspects of the advisory process.  As a Senior Managing Director of McDonald Partners, and a founding practice owner of CapTrust Financial Advisors in Ann Arbor, MI, he represents many long-term clients comprised of individuals, families, qualified retirement plans, foundations and endowments.

Seeking to align himself with a platform unsurpassed in objectivity on behalf of the client, Tim established CapTrust Financial Advisors in September 2000.   Prior to that he was a Managing Director and Branch Manager for McDonald & Company, as well as for Prescott, Ball & Turben.

In keeping with his fundamental belief that comprehensive financial planning should serve as the foundation for investment decision making, Tim attained his CFP (Certified Financial Planning) designation in 1984.  He is a graduate of Michigan State University.  In addition, he was a founding Board Member of Ann Arbor Commerce Bank, served on the Washtenaw Community College Foundation Board for six years, and is presently a Board Member of Caymus Funding, LLC.

Tim is married with 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and resides in Ann Arbor, MI.
